CW February 2010Issue Number 2 February 2010 ISSN 1059380 Vaccine Kills Residual Leukemia Cells in Patients Treated with ImatinibIn an early phase clinical trial testing a therapeutic vaccine in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who were taking the drug imatinib (Gleevec), no cancer cells could be detected in 7 out of 19 participants for a median period of 22 months. The trial results were published in the January 1, 2010 issue of Clinical Cancer Research.
