CW September 2006Issue Number 9 September 2006 ISSN 10593802 Novel Targeting Therapy for MelanomaAn antisense nucleotide oblimersen that targets Bcl-2 mRNA and inhibits its action can be used to prevent the antiapoptotic action of Bcl-2 in melanoma patients. A combination of oblimersen and the chemotherapeutic drug dacarbazine is found to perform better in improving survival of these patients.
