With trastuzumab (Herceptin, Genentech) therapy for breast cancer, those women who have a ?20% decrease in serum HER-2/neu have reduced benefit and should be considered for additional HER-2/neu-targeted therapies. That conclusion was presented by Associate Professor Suhail M Ali, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, PA, for the Serum HER-2/neu Study Group at the American Society of Oncology 2006 Annual Meeting.
