Mutations Can Predict Relapse in Common Type of Acute Myeloid Leukemia

A specific molecular marker may help predict whether patients with a common subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) will experience a relapse after treatment. This could lead to more aggressive treatment with stem cell transplantation or incorporation of tyrosine kinase inhibitors targeting the specific gene.
