Protein Biomarkers in Plasma Predict Cancer Recurrence

Cancer-related proteins and nucleic acids are released in the blood of leukemia patients. Usually, cancer biomarkers are identified in cancer cells. Since it is difficult to obtain cancer cells from marrow because types of cells vary, researchers have devised a technique to identify recurrence biomarker protein from peripheral blood of acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients.
