Volume 15Issue Number 2 February 2006 ISSN 10593802 FDA Approves Oral Multi-Kinase Inhibitor for Two CancersHealth officials announced on January 26 that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the US has approved a drug, sunitinib (Sutent), to combat a rare type of stomach cancer as well as advanced kidney cancer. Sutent is a multi-kinase inhibitor made by Pfizer Inc. that received simultaneous approval for the treatment of two different types of cancer.
