CFAR Regimen Active in CLL

A regimen combining cyclophosphamide, fludarabine, rituximab, and alemtuzumab (CFAR) is active and evokes responses in heavily pretreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients, including those with unfavorable cytogenetics, according to a presentation at the 47th Annual Meeting and Exposition of the American Society of Hematology. Rituximab and alemtuzumab are monoclonal antibodies against CD20 and CD52, respectively, antigens co-expressed by CLL lymphocytes.
