Lenalidomide Improves Overall Survival and Delays Time to Progression in Previously Treated Multiple Myeloma Patients

A new study shows that when lenalidomide (Revlimid) -- a drug related to thalidomide -- is combined with the standard treatment for multiple myeloma, the treatment results are far superior than using the standard drug alone. The combination of lenalidomide and dexamethasone was safe and effective for relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma, and may prove to be successful in previously untreated patients as well.
