A Cancer-Causing Gene Can be Triggered to Cause Breast Cancer Cell Death

In breast cancer, where two cancer-causing genes HER2 and cMYC are overexpressed, prognosis is very poor. However, when a monoclonal antibody is added to the chemotherapy regimen against HER2, it triggers the cMYC gene to regain its cell killing activity. Many cancer genes, including cMYC, have dual roles.
