A third-generation aromatase inhibitor, exemestane (Pfizer?s Aromasin), has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the adjuvant treatment of early breast cancer in postmenopausal women following two-to-three years of tamoxifen use for a completion of five years.
