Adjuvant Immunotherapy for HER2-positive Breast Cancer

Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that works against a growth factor receptor protein. When given after surgical removal of the tumor and completion of chemotherapy, trastuzumab significantly improves the disease-free survival of a subset of patients who overexpress this receptor protein.
