HPV Genotyping In High-risk Women

Human papillomavirus (PV) type 16 infection compared with infection with other oncogenic HPVs increases the risk of developing cervical cancer. Therefore, genotyping HPV in women with an abnormal Pap test will identify the high-risk group and reduce the number of cases needing colposcopic examination.
