Chemoprevention of Prostate Cancer

Tea, both black and green, contains a variety of polyphenolic ingredients that are potent antioxidants and beneficial in oxidative stress related diseases such as cancer. In an animal model, aqueous tea extract is shown to have significant effect in inhibiting a testosterone-induced increase in several key oxidative enzymes in prostate tissue.
