Novel Mitogenic Protein to Prevent Mucositis

A novel protein has been identified that specifically stimulates the epithelial cell lining of the gastrointestinal tract. Tested in animal model, this protein dramatically reduced symptoms of chemotherapy-induced mucositis without compromising treatment efficacy.
