CW August 2005Issue Number 8 August 2005 ISSN 10593802 Improved Breast Cancer Survival Rates Linked to Smaller TumorsA new study published in the August 8, 2005 online edition of Cancer finds that the size of newly diagnosed breast cancer has shifted towards smaller tumors, even within the conventional cancer stage categories. These shifts account for a proportion of improved breast cancer survival over the last 30 years. The authors of the report say that failure to account for this shift in tumor size can overestimate the impact of treatment advances.
