CW August 2005Issue Number 8 August 2005 ISSN 10593802 Early Clinical Signs of Ovarian CancerA recent study shows that even though ovarian cancer patients display symptoms that are not very specific, such as abdominal pain and swelling, as early as 12 months before diagnosis, physicians typically fail to order specific tests to detect the disease. Instead, they order abdominal and gastrointestinal diagnostic tests. Currently, diagnostic tests for most ovarian cancer patients are delayed by at least four months.
