Early Clinical Signs of Ovarian Cancer

A recent study shows that even though ovarian cancer patients display symptoms that are not very specific, such as abdominal pain and swelling, as early as 12 months before diagnosis, physicians typically fail to order specific tests to detect the disease. Instead, they order abdominal and gastrointestinal diagnostic tests. Currently, diagnostic tests for most ovarian cancer patients are delayed by at least four months.
