Active Ingredient from Spice Blocks Growth of Melanoma Cells

An active ingredient from turmeric, a spice that is known to have a chemopreventive effect, could be used to treat cancer. Laboratory studies show that turmeric extract destroys several lines of human melanoma cells in a dose-dependent manner.
