Novel, Once-Daily Iron Chelator Reduces Iron Overload in Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Exjade (deferasirox), an investigational once-daily oral iron chelator, also known as ICL670, has shown efficacy in clinical trials and was also generally well tolerated in patients with iron overload, a cumulative toxicity resulting from blood transfusions necessary to treat myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).
