Adjuvant Trastuzumab Can Reduce Breast Cancer Recurrence in HER2+ Patients

The addition of the targeted therapy trastuzumab (Herceptin) as adjuvant treatment of women with early human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 positive breast cancer produces a major reduction in risk recurrence at least as large as the effect of tamoxifen in estrogen-receptor (ER) positive tumors.
