Gene Expression Signature Identifies Better Colon Cancer Prognosis

Previous studies have shown that colon cancer patients with stage II microsatellite unstable (MSI) tumors had a better prognosis than stage II microsatellite stable (MSS) tumors, and that all stage III patients have similar prognoses independent of MS-status. A new study confirms that data, and also has discovered a gene expression signature consistent in MSI tumors that identifies those stage II patients with better prognosis.
