Trial Results Urge Early Adjuvant Clodronate in Breast Cancer

In patients with operable breast cancer who received adjuvant, oral clodronate (Bonefos, Berlex) versus placebo, the incidence of bone metastases was reduced and overall survival was greater, according to a retrospective analysis presented at the 27th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. Also, survival was greater among those with bone metastases who had received clodronate early.
