CW February 2005Issue Number 2 February 2005 ISSN 10593802 Letrozole Tops Tamoxifen in Head-to-Head StudyThe aromatase inhibitor letrozole (Femara) significantly reduces the risk of relapse compared with tamoxifen (Nolvadex) for postmenopausal women with hormone-responsive breast cancer, according to the results of the first clinical trial to incorporate both a head-to-head comparison of the two drugs and a sequencing of both agents during the first five years following breast cancer surgery.
