CW January 2005Issue Number 1 January 2005 ISSN 10593802 Thalidomide and Pamidronate Provide Effective Maintenance for MyelomaHigh dose therapy (HDT) supported with autologous stem cell transplantation has become a standard way to manage aggressive myeloma. However, after single or double transplantation, almost all patients ultimately relapse. New strategies are required to control any residual disease after HDT, including maintenance treatment with thalidomide and pamidronate.
