Questions For the Prostate Cancer Specialist

In the United States, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men and the second leading cause of annual cancer deaths, following lung cancer. About one in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. Fortunately, prostate cancer is a slow-growing form of cancer and is usually responsive to treatment. The key to deciding which treatment is right for an individual is to incorporate a multidisciplinary approach to one?s prostate cancer treatment, including a medical oncologist, in addition to a urologist and radiation oncologist, in the treatment decisions. Together, these specialists can help the patient decide the treatment course that?s best for him.
