CW August 2004Issue Number 8 August 2004 ISSN 10593802 Proteomic-based Technology for Early Detection of Ovarian CancerBiomarkers with greater sensitivity, specificity, and lead-time are needed to detect ovarian cancer at its early stage. Proteomic-based technology has the advantage of analyzing several proteins simultaneously. This technology can be applied to readily available samples such as blood or urine and allows data mining from a large input data base and overcomes the slow advances of one protein-one gene investigation.
