CW August 2004Issue Number 8 August 2004 ISSN 10593802 Minor Adverse Impact on QOL with Letrozole BenefitsIn the MA17 breast cancer trial among postmenopausal women, the benefits of the aromatase inhibitor letrozole (letrozole reduced breast cancer recurrences by 42%) came at the expense of only minor impacts on quality of life. Women in the randomized, placebo-controlled trial received letrozole (2.5 mg qd, Femara, Novartis) or placebo (qd) following 4.6-6 years of treatment with tamoxifen.
