High Carbohydrate Diet and Risk of Breast Cancer

A low carbohydrate diet may reduce breast cancer risk by lowering levels of insulin, estrogens, and insulin-like growth factor-1. A clinical study is being conducted to study the effect of low fat vs. low carbohydrate diets on the risk of breast cancer among premenopausal women who are at high risk to develop breast cancer.
