Raloxifene May Protect Against Breast Cancer

Raloxifene (Evista), approved for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, may substantially reduce the risk of invasive breast cancer in post-menopausal women with osteoporosis. Among the more than 5,000 women in the trial, those who took the designer estrogen for 8 years reduced their risk by 59% compared to placebo.
