CW July 2004Issue Number 7 July 2004 ISSN 10593802 Novel Anti-Angiogenesis Agent Combines With ChemotherapyPreliminary clinical trials in patients with advanced colorectal cancer of the combination of an oral anti-angiogenesis agent, PTK/ZK (Novartis/Schering AG, Berlin, Germany),with either the FOLFOX-4 or the FOLFIRI chemotherapy regimens suggest that the new agent may be a valuable adjunct therapy. Both trials found favorable response rates without added side effects, according to presentations at the 40th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
