CW July 2004Issue Number 7 July 2004 ISSN 10593802 In CLL, Pretreating Bulky Lymph Nodes Increases ResponseInvestigators looking to increase remission rates for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), found that patients with bulky lymph nodes, while least likely to respond to treatment, may respond better if they are pretreated with high dose methylprednisolone (HDMP) or CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisolone) before consolidation with alemtuzumab (Campath, Berlex).
