Cost-Effectiveness of Extended Letrozole After Adjuvant Tamoxifen in Early Breast Cancer

Extended adjuvant administration of letrozole (FemaraR, Novartis), a well-known aromatase inhibitor, initiated after five years of post-surgery tamoxifen treatment in postmenopausal women with early breast cancer provides a highly cost-effective use of healthcare resources, according to results from a presentation at the 40th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held in New Orleans, LA, from June 5 to June 8, 2004.
