In early stage cervical cancer patients, sentinel lymph node biopsy may not accurately predict the lymph node status. Multilevel sectioning with histologic staining along with an immunohistochemical analysis identified micro-metastasis in non-sentinel nodes of patients who had negative sentinel biopsy results.
