Volume 13Issue Number 4 April 2004 ISSN 10593802 Annual Breast Screening Inadequate for Women with Genetic MutationsA new study shows that women with a BRCA mutation that increases the risk of breast cancer often develop advanced disease within six months of a normal annual screening mammogram. These women should be screened at more frequent intervals.
