Volume 13Issue Number 2 February 2004 ISSN 10593802 New Hereditary Cancer Mutation FoundScientists have combined genetic testing and genealogical investigation to discover and trace the source of an unusual gene mutation. This unusual mutation was apparently brought to the US at least 13 generations ago by a German immigrant, and it may be responsible for a sizable portion of certain hereditary cancers in the US.
