BAX to the Future

Identifying the mechanisms by which chemotherapy agents kill tumor cells is critical for the efficient use of such anticancer drugs. A recent study pinpoints BAX, a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins, as a key player in apoptosis induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) used to treat colorectal cancer.
