Ever since exact criteria for myelodysplasias had been established by the French-American-British Cooperative Group, diagnostic procedures, prognosis, therapy and supportive measures are being continuously refined. It is understood any "state of the art" describes a fleeting, changing and easily obsolete phase, but it is sometimes necessary to pause and look into the past and peek into the future.
