Preventing Breast Cancer with Tamoxifen: Back to Square One (Again)?

This year, the title of the Strang Award lecture states that "?the beginning of the end of breast cancer" is achievable with antiestrogens. Enthusiasm is laudable, but certainty is even better. Oncology is littered with debris, left behind by false interpretations. Some of this has been reflected in the many brief notes, published throughout the years in CW, which can pride itself of remaining critical and unbiased.
