Improved Ovarian Cancer Survival in Prior Breast Cancer Patients

Ovarian cancer patients with germ-line BRCA1 gene mutation may have better survival rate compared with those without such mutation. The underlying cause may be that BRCA1 protein is required for DNA repair and in its absence the mutated cells cannot repair damaged DNA and are killed.
