A new sophisticated technique that can deliver different levels of radiation during an application has been tested on prostate cancer patients in clinical setting for the first time. This radiotherapy called Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy is found to be superior to conventional 3-dimensional conformal radiotherapy in delivering radiation to the affected organ and reducing damage to the adjacent healthy tissues.
