CW April 2000Issue Number 4 April 2000 ISSN 10593802 Novel Immunotherapy for Pancreatic CancerA novel blood cell implant treatment has been tested in advanced pancreatic cancer patients. In this procedure white blood cells from an unrelated healthy individual are mixed with white cells from the cancer patient and grown in tissue culture and then injected directly into the tumor by an ultrasound-guided fine needle. Preliminary result suggests that this procedure is feasible without extensive adverse side effects.
