CW January 2004Issue Number 1 January 2004 ISSN 10593802 Study Finds More Than Half of Breast Cancer Patients Do Not Receive Suggested ChemotherapyEarly stage breast cancer patients have a better chance of survival when they receive the full recommended dose of adjuvant chemotherapy. The treatment may be delayed or the dose reduced because certain patients may develop drug-related adverse side effects. However, data from a new study indicates that more than half of the women treated for early stage breast cancer do not receive the full recommended dose of chemotherapy.
