New Anti-Cancer Drugs from Soy

Genistein, the principal soy isoflavone, shows cytostatic and cytotoxic effects against human cancer cell lines. Certain glycosidic derivatives of genistein have been synthesized with several times more activity than that of genestein. This new class of compounds have the potential to be used as anticancer drugs.
