Timing for HPV Vaccine in Women is Crucial

A vaccine against the human papillomavirus is found to have protective properties against cervical cancer in women taking oral contraceptives. A recent study indicates that women who are ovulating may not have the protective effect of this vaccine. Total antibody and virus-specific antibody levels seem to fall significantly during the ovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle.
