CW August 2003Issue Number 8 August 2003 ISSN 10593802 Pre-Surgery Chemotherapy Improves Bladder Cancer Survival RatesResults of an 11-year study conducted by Southwest Oncology Group indicate that bladder cancer patients who received chemotherapy before surgery fared well compared to those who did not receive this presurgical chemotherapy. These patients lived an average of 31 months longer.
