Proteasome Inhibitor for Refractory Myeloma

Bortezomib, member of a new class of anticancer drug, is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of relapsed, refractory multiple myeloma. Results of a Phase II study indicate a majority of patients experienced a reduction or stabilization of their disease severity, with some patients experiencing complete responses.
