CW July 2003Issue Number 7 July 2003 ISSN 10593802 Interleukin-2-Based Immuno-Chemotherapy for Metastatic Renal Cell CarcinomaCombined immuno-chemotherapy with interleukin-2 (IL-2) (Proleukin®, Chiron), interferon alpha (IFN) (Roferon-A®, Roche) and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) has been shown to be an active therapeutic regimen with only moderate toxicity in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (MRCC), providing encouraging results in terms of treatment response and prolonged survival, according to a presentation given at the 39th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
