Can Liver Cancer be Prevented by COX-2 Inhibitors?

Cyclooxygenase-2, an enzyme protein complex that is present in most tissue can favor cancerous growth by several mechanisms. Selective inhibitors of this enzyme that are classified under nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are found to prevent early-stage hepatocellular cancer.
