CW May 2003Issue Number 5 May 2003 ISSN 10593802 Virus Eliminates Brain Cancer in Animal ModelInactivated adenoviruses have been used to deliver genes in gene therapy. However, a very specific inactivation of this virus left it replication-competent only in cancer cells with inactive retinoblastoma protein. Retinoblastoma protein is a regulatory protein needed in preventing cells from dividing out of control. It also prevents some viruses from replicating after infection.
