Cancer of the Gallbladder: Treatment

Surgery is the only possible curative therapy for gallbladder cancer. This mode of treatment can also cure localized superficial cancer, which is very rare because at presentation most of the patients are at an advanced stage of the disease. There is no beneficial role for adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy, though there are reports indicating temporary shrinkage of tumors after such treatment.
