A Novel Antisense Compound to Target a Key Oncogene

The expression of oncogene such as c-myc is found to be amplified in several types of cancers. A strategy to prevent the expression of this gene has been developed that utilizes short synthetic DNA polymers. In animal tumor models, one such compound is shown to potentiate the effect of chemotherapeutic drugs.
